CPR & AED for the Community and Workplace

This course is for everyday people who want to make difference. Course teaches how to perform CPR and other lifesaving skills in a wide variety of in-hospital and out-of-hospital settings.

Course Content

  • Key changes in basic life support, reflecting the new science from the American Red Cross Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care
  • Critical concepts of high quality CPR
  • Rescuer CPR and AED for adult, child and infant
  • Differences between adult, child and infant rescue techniques
  • Bag-mask techniques for adult, child and infant
  • Rescue breathing for adult, child and infant
  • Relief of choking for adult, child and infant
  • CPR with an advanced airway as recommended

Course Format/Time

  • Initial Provider Course requires approximately 4.5 hours* to complete, including skills practice and skills testing
  • Renewal course requires approximately 4 hours*, including skills practice and skills testing​         

                *Course time based on 1 instructor, 6 students and 2 manikins

Continuing Education

BLS Provider Course Continuing Education Accreditation – Emergency Medical Services 
This continuing education activity is approved by the American Heart Association, an organization accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Pre-Hospital Continuing Education (CAPCE), 1 hr of CE credits for every 50 minutes of education

**CAPCE credit must be claimed within 6 months of attendance. CME/CE credit will no longer be available to claim for this activity after the 6-month claiming period
